And dailykitchenhub is my little corner of the internet!
I’m the voice, author, and creator behind dailykitchenhub. I first picked up a notebook and a whisk in 2016 while I was still working full‑time as a graphic designer in Portland, Oregon. I wanted a place where I could experiment with the quick meals I was cooking for myself between client meetings. In March 2017 I launched the site as a simple WordPress blog, and the first post— a five‑minute lemon‑garlic pasta— got shared on a friends’ Facebook group. By the end of 2018 the traffic had crept up to 12,000 monthly visitors, and I decided to quit my day job and go full‑time with the kitchen.
Fast forward to today, dailykitchenhub reaches roughly 150,000 unique visitors each month and has a newsletter list of 10,300 food‑loving readers. I’ve published two e‑cookbooks (the “30‑Day Weeknight Reset” in 2020 and “Seasonal Sweet Spot” in 2022) and the site now features a searchable recipe index, a video tutorial series, and a community forum where members swap tips. In September 2023 we hit the milestone of 1 million page views, and I’m constantly adding new features based on the feedback I get from you.
I live in Asheville, North Carolina, with my partner Alex and our rescue dog, Basil. When I’m not in the kitchen, you’ll find me hiking the Blue Ridge Mountains, hunting for vintage records at local thrift shops, or enjoying a lazy Sunday brunch at the farmer’s market. My favorite kitchen tools are a well‑seasoned cast‑iron skillet, a hand‑crank coffee grinder, and a sturdy wooden spoon that’s been with me since my first recipe.
One quirky habit I have is to write every new recipe on a yellow legal‑pad before I type it up. It helps me keep the voice conversational and the steps honest—just the way I’d explain them to a friend sitting across the table.
